Understanding the challenges using the Canon 70D camera:
Key Takeaways:
Understand and modify the organization of the features to keep the ISO, Focus, and Zoom in reach of the thumb, middle, and index finger
Redistribute the weight and hand-holding position to allow for more mobility of the two main fingers
Once I understood the challenges I came up with a range of control layouts and grips
I then put my ideas to the test to understand where the key improvements were and what still needed work
Key Takeaways:
Adjust the size of the grip to fit smaller hands, and create more thumb-accessible features.
Keep the DSLR key features and simplify the rest of the lens side of the camera to allow for more balanced weight distribution.
Uni takes these learnings and channels them into a DSLR where comfort and easy interaction are the priority.
